Cookbook!

I mistakenly, thought a dear friend was going to arrive home tonight from France, where, of course, I was a beautiful day ahead of myself. Yet this was after i arrived home to make chocolate covered strawberries for him.

More importantly, on my way over I discovered a dear kitty that seemed to be a stray, or I guess, may have lost its way..
I gave him/her a pat, and carried on my way (hurrying really, and sweating profusely) to the grocer to buy him/her some kitty food. I hoped he wouldn't be too picky and eat the darn chicken feast.

Anyway, I return, with the cat food in hand, and he is no where to be seen. I tap the can, and awkwardly thump my foot, hoping s/he would respond..to my luck, he didn't.

At least I had a very good reason to glutton myself on half a dozen strawberries.
Have i mentioned they were coated in Cadbury milk chocolate? 'Melted Cadbury chocolate?'

Why so lovely?

how incredibly splendid, St. Vincent

She came to Singapore, but I was too late to buy a ticket ($30) and will now have to succumb to incredible anger and jealousy.

I also managed to 'stumble' upon an intriguing contemporary Chinese artist

This is the work of a Chinese Contemporary artist-

"A series of my paintings is based on dreams that I had as a child of many many jellyfish floating in the sky, some of which fell to the ground on parachutes and became mushrooms. These dreams had a strong impact on me, and I remember them vividly. Somehow I feel that it is easier to focus on dreams than reality. In one particular painting, there is a boy crying because he keeps things within him, is easily sad, and he refuses to face reality."

Isn't this wondrous

Not too sure which one is my favorite yet.

Whimsical reads

I recently bought a few books (for my birthday), which I hope will be worth the struggle that it took me to carry them home.

1. The Principles of Uncertainty (I kind of cheated and read this book in the first hour that I had bought it.)
-I couldn't wait for my birthday (2 weeks and 2 days away)

The Principles of Uncertainty- Maira Kalman

Definitely worth the walk down to the bookstore, and a coffee.
Her blog- http://kalman.blogs.nytimes.com/

...just to get a teaser of her delightful humor.

2.The Social Contract by Jean Jacques Rousseau

These pastel hues are very refreshing
